As Parkway Baptist Grows, Dow Smith Company Is Honored To Serve

The Parkway Baptist Church project in Smyrna, Tennessee was recently completed by the Dow Smith Company team. The new addition features classrooms, an all-purpose room, and an office remodel.

Back in 2009, we were honored to build Parkway Baptist Church’s facility on Lee Victory Parkway in Smyrna. The nearly 15,000-square-foot project included a worship hall, administrative offices, and ministry education space.

Over the years, we’ve kept in touch with the folks at Parkway Baptist and as the church grew, they needed more space. We were honored again to be of service. We recently completed a 7,725-square-foot addition to the church that includes new classrooms, a new all-purpose room, and a remodel of their office area.

“We know that when we’re building a church, medical facility or commercial structure, we’re also building a relationship with the people who’ve trusted us with their project,” Dow Smith Company CEO Joey Rhyne says. “Nothing makes us happier than to see our clients flourish, and for them to know they can count on us to serve them with the space they need to continue to accomplish their mission.”

Superintendent Nathan Pfeifer, left, and Project Manager Andrea Fall, right, did an amazing job coordinating the Parkway Baptist project.

Ken Dalton, who oversees property care and building maintenance for Parkway Baptist, said the project went smoothly thanks to DSC Project Manager Andrea Fall, Superintendent Nathan Pfeifer, and Assistant Project Manager Carlos Hernandez.

“It went really well,” Ken says. “All I had to do was make a call and they were right on it. The project took less time than was originally thought. Overall, it’s been a really good experience. I don’t know if I could work with anyone any better than Andrea and Nathan and Carlos.”

As a member of the building committee and a liaison between the church and DSC, Ken says he’s already receiving positive feedback from the congregation.

“They’re loving it,” he says. “We’re so happy it all worked out. We needed to do it.”

Tony Hicks, Director of Business Lending at Heritage South Community Credit Union, financed the project. He says he couldn’t be more pleased with how it went.

“Dow Smith and his team are wonderful to work with,” Tony says. “They are always available and they build a solid building. I have been a part of several of their construction projects and they have always come in under budget and ahead of schedule. As far as I’m concerned, they’re the bar that everyone else should shoot for.”
