Dow Smith Company designs and builds churches, medical facilities and commercial buildings. While we know these buildings are just “stuff,” we design and build them to be alive, filled with energy, activity, and purpose. A key part of any project—big or small—is making sure that our clients have the right building for their mission.
Celebrating Women In Construction Week at Dow Smith Company
Over the last two decades, the construction industry has slowly evolved as it promotes diversity in the workplace. Nevertheless, it remains one of the most male-dominated industries in the world with women making up just 10% of the total number of workers in the industry. At Dow Smith Company, we understand that women bring tremendous value to our team. Their fresh perspective allows us to find solutions to challenges we might not ordinarily find, and their attention to detail is exemplary.

Projects Big and Small
We’re busy – maybe busier than we’ve ever been before. And for that, we’re grateful to our staff, partners, clients and community. From big projects to small jobs and everything in between, Dow Smith Company’s leaders and employees are hard helping existing organizations evolve and new ones spring to life.
After growing up in Washington State and working construction for most of his life, Joel Tellez wound up in Smyrna, where he became a superintendent for Olympian Construction. One day, he was sitting in the pickup line at Thurman Francis Arts Academy in his work truck when Dow Smith—who also had kids at the school—came over and struck up a conversation. A few months later, Joel was working at DSC. Last week, he celebrated 20 years with the company.
