Why We Want Our Employees and Clients To Have An Exceptional and Unique Experience

At DSC, one of the key stations on our Flywheel is what we call the Exceptional and Unique Experience—one of our three defining “uniques.” This is not just a concept; it’s a critical part of our process that keeps the Flywheel turning and fuels the enduring success of DSC.

At its core, an Exceptional and Unique Experience is about treating people as people—day in and day out. It’s about genuine human connection, not just with our clients but with one another as a team. We believe that every interaction should feel like a relationship, not a transaction.

The world we live and work in is still about people, not just projects. Yes, we design and build things, but what truly drives us is serving one another and our clients.

This kind of experience is born out of our core values: Passion, Caring, Hustle, and Detail. When we live these values consistently, the result is an unmatched experience—for our clients and for each other.

I love hearing from our clients during and after projects. While they’re often thrilled with the results they can see, what they talk about most is our team—the relationships they built with us along the way. Too often, construction projects elsewhere end with relief that the ordeal is finally over, or even with animosity. But at DSC, we regularly hear things like: “I’m going to miss you guys.” “I’m sad it’s over.” “I can’t wait to start the next phase.”

That kind of feedback is mirrored internally, too. I’ve heard countless team members say: “I’ve never worked anywhere like this before.” “I want to retire here.”

These things don’t happen by accident. They are the result of intentional effort—of a shared mindset that shapes our behavior.

Personally, I am grateful every day to be part of a place like this, where our core values aren’t just words on a page, but lived out in our daily actions and experienced by everyone we encounter.
