Project Delivery: Design-Build
Project Scope: New warehouse and office building
Global Product Sources, LLC (GPS) is a premier global sourcing company, helping with the ideation, sourcing, and delivery of innovative products to their clients. This design-build project involved the construction of a 9,520-square-foot warehouse and 4,000-square-foot office. The building consists of a contemporary pre-engineered metal structure with a decorative stone façade.
With limited access to the building site and shared use with a neighboring retailer, the Dow Smith team had to be creative with site development and scheduling. Additionally, working through the City’s permit process, all while meeting GPS’s manufacturing needs, proved to be challenging.
Despite these obstacles, the Dow Smith team was able to deliver a modern-style structure and open office space that matched the culture of GPS. Special rigging equipment was installed in the warehouse to assist with the production of LED screens and a solar-powered electrical system was designed to offset GPS’s electrical costs. This project was a success thanks to a close relationship with and constant communication between the design team and GPS.
Did you know that disengaged employees cost the global economy $8.9 trillion every year? According to Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace report, employee engagement plays a significant role in overall life experiences. When it comes to well-being items such as stress, anger, worry, and loneliness, being actively disengaged at work is the same as—or even worse than—being unemployed.
