Woodfin Funeral Chapel
Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Project Scope: New memorial chapel construction
The original Woodfin Funeral Chapel was completely destroyed in a fire in 1999. After closing for a year, they worked with the Dow Smith team to build a new facility adjacent to their first location. The 30,000-square-foot funeral home includes a chapel, various viewing rooms, a climate- and temperature-controlled embalming facility, and a crematorium. Given the need to reopen for business, the short timeline was a challenge. Owner Bubba Woodfin found Dow Smith Company through word-of-mouth and a family connection.

Let’s be honest. The cheapest option isn’t going to be the best one. Everyone knows that. It’s common sense. We can all be lured in by low prices. But that’s a terrible idea if you’re planning a construction project. Imagine you’re a business owner. You’ve spent years—maybe your whole life—dreaming of the business you want to run and getting to do the job you love. You’ve thought about the clients you want to serve and the community you want to impact. And now it’s time to design and build the place where you’ll do business. Do you really want to go with the lowest bidder?
